Life has gotten busy....and I got on Facebook...I had started blogging as a way for family and friends to keep up with us when we lived in Hong Kong...now that we don't live overseas and I am more connected on FB than I have been in years....I have neglected my blog!!
Life does continue and we've had a very good week here in the Granger house!!
Noah: He got to read to the principle yesterday....this is a BIG deal (esp for Kinders!!!) He got a ribbon, his picture taken and put up on the main school bullitin board annouceing that HE has read to her!!! He also had a great week with his teacher...they are finally learning stuff he didn't already know and he's staying out of trouble! He is enjoying learning about 1/2 and whole in Math!!!
Keighley: She continues to LOVE pre-school and has started writing her name all by herself (upper and lowercase letters!!!) She has a long name too! She loves all things art/project and her newest thing is making Valentines...we draw the line and she cuts out hearts...this has been the routine for the last week...
Isaac: HE IS OUT OF DIAPERS!!!! 3 down one to go! He is doing really well using the potty...only one accident at school this week and totally great at home!! He's getting it and we are so proud! I am very thankful that we only have to buy diapers for one kiddo! He also turned three this week and it seems that overnight he became a big boy...he's talking more and doing more for himself!!!
Toby: He's a step away from walking on his own (we crack it up to him not wanting to not be held!!) He's starting to use words and has gotten the sign for "more" down that he does it to anyone who has food!!! He loves playing with his brothers and sister and HATES to be left out of the action. I am ready for him to start preschool next year!!
Rick: He is in his 3rd Post BA teaching class. Only one more to go!! He is also subbing in two highschools and three Jr. Highs in the area. HE has work just about everyday! He loves it and he can't wait to have a class of his own! He's got one more class for over Summer session I then he will take a few tests and get offically certified...in the mean time he can apply for his "Internship" which allows him to teach at a full salary while he finishes up his testing!! We are hopeful that he will be in his own class full time next fall!!!
Me: I continue to do the majority of the Youth Ministry at the church. Rick is still putting in about 20 hours a week...but I am the main office person!!! I am loving it! There is a lot coming up in the spring and I am most excited about our Summer mission trip to AZ to work with the Navajo!
We are considering homeschooling Keighley next year for Kindergarten...She misses the cut off by 17 days and is totally ready to start....if anyone has any ideas or suggestions we'd be happy to hear them. We aren't HUGE homeschool fans...but we really want what is best for Keighley. We would probably keep her in the preschool in the mornings and work on Kinder stuff in the afternoons! Then we can test her into 1st grade the next year.
That is the big update! I will try to be better about writing!!! Miss you all!
Wow.. reading to the principal is a big deal! Good job, Noah!
Glad you wrote! I look forward to catching up with what you are doing!!
